Loading ...A native of the Dominican Republic, Bartolo Colon was signed by the Cleveland Indians as a free agent in 1993, and made his major league debut with the team in 1997. In 2002, just prior to the trading deadline, the Indians traded Colon to the now defunct Montreal Expos. From a strange coincidence, Bartolo Colon went 10-4 for the Indians, and 10-4 for the Expos, finishing the season with a 20-8 record. In 2003, Bartolo Colon was again traded, this time to the Chicago White Sox, and the following year, he signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

In May 2008 Bartolo Colon has reportedly signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox. If he makes the cut for the Opening Day roster, the husky right-hander would be a temporary replacement for veteran starter Curt Schilling, who will continue to rehab a shoulder injury into the first part of this season. The 2007 season was plagued by injury for the former Los Angeles Angels hurler, as he finished with a 6-8 record and 6.34 ERA, the worst mark of his 11 years career.
